Brando doesn’t travel with a $10,000 camera rig — yet his photography was selected twice for this year’s National Geographic Annual Calendar. The only photographer featured multiples times, and the only photographer who submitted images shot solely on a smartphone. Brandon specializes in raw, intimate photographic storytelling by seeking human connections, and blending into the rhythm of daily life in some of the world’s most complex environments.
Traveling light was initially about access, always having a camera available, but more importantly it lets him dissapear into sensitive environments and capture raw, intimate human moments that heavy gear might disrupt. This session democratizes storytelling: attendees will learn how to minimize gear, master the physics of mobile photography, mobile storytelling, and build the confidence to capture publishable, world-class images with nothing but the phone already in their pocket.
