Overview

The Sak Yant—or “blessed tattoo”—is an ancient form of spiritual tattooing found in Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar. Hand-etched by Buddhist monks or traditional Ajarns using a long metal rod or bamboo stick, these tattoos are infused with Buddhist and animist symbolism and believed to offer protection, luck, strength, and other blessings.

Each design carries unique spiritual meaning—whether geometric patterns, sacred animals, or intricate deities—and is crafted specifically for the individual. More than just body art, a Sak Yant is a deeply personal spiritual gift and a piece of living Southeast Asian heritage.
